Crowdsourcing Genomics: Finding the Wisdom in a Sea of Biomedical Data

Updated: Apr 10, 2019

Video from a lecture/demo I gave for the Illumina Informatics, Next-Generation Sequencing and Array Seminar, sponsored by the UC Denver Genomics Core. In this presentation I construct a papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) meta-analysis using data gathered from the Illumina platform, Correlation Engine.

There was an extended question/statement during my "Crowdsourcing Genomics" lecture (given below) that I edited out for time considerations from the original video. I thought this question was important in that it represents the view of many older scientists worried that people like me are stealing their data without giving them credit. For the record, everyone at this lecture was informed that I would be recording it for public consumption on my YouTube channel (plus I had a big recording microphone next to me while talking).
